28. Japanese Zelkova
September 2014


The Japanese Zelkova is tall and its branches grow up and not out.

It has compound leaves and there are a lot on the tree.

The bark is smooth, flaky, rough, bumpy, sharp and it is mossy.

November 2014
It still has a lot of leaves. 

Most of the leaves have changed from dark green to red.

All together the leaves are very colorful.

The Japanese Zelkova tree has gotten taller 
and it has more leaves.

There is a slit in the bark and there is less moss growing.

29. White Redbud
September 2014


The White Redbud Tree is really small.

The leaves are simple non-lobed leaves.

The bark is rough.

There are pods growing on the tree.

There are no more leaves on the tree. 
It seems to have grown a little bit.

The leaves on the ground had turned yellow.

The bark is more cracked.

The White Redbud is still small and it has no leaves.

It now has light pink buds on the branches.

The bark is more bumpy.


30. Oriental Spruce

September 2014

The Oriental Spruce Tree looks like a Christmas Tree and
it has pinecones at the top.

There are dying branches at the bottom and the sap is staining the tree.

The needles are smooth because they are growing outward.

The needles on the Oriental Spruce are longer.

The branches at the bottom are dying and there is white bark. 

The tree seems to be a tiny bit taller and 
the branches are growing more outward.
